Organic help us to become Zero Waste !
Since the beginning of our century, many people have realized that we must change our consumption. We take care to make less waste, stop eating foods containing a lot of chemicals, eat organic, etc..
One practice that is beginning to develop is Zero Waste. First, what is Zero Waste?
The definition adopted by the Zero Waste International Alliance(ZWIA) is:
“Zero Waste is a goal that is ethical, economical, efficient and visionary, to guide people in changing their lifestyles and practices to emulate sustainable natural cycles, where all discarded materials are designed to become resources for others to use.
Zero Waste means designing and managing products and processes to systematically avoid and eliminate the volume and toxicity of waste and materials, conserve and recover all resources, and not burn or bury them.
Implementing Zero Waste will eliminate all discharges to land, water or air that are a threat to planetary, human, animal or plant health.”
But how do industries help us?
Brands pay more or less attention to all the packaging they make with the product. For example, if there are four different packages for a product, the brand is not very careful. If there is only a small piece of cardboard, we can say that the brand is more careful.
What helps the most not to make waste are the bulk stores: when you have to come with your little bags to put the product in because there is no packaging. We have noticed that in France, it is mainly organic stores that make bulk products. Organic helps us to be healthier and not make waste!
